Notes: John
Pass was born in 1947 in Sheffield, England and has
lived in Canada since 1953. Fourteen books and
chapbooks of his work have been published and his
poems have appeared in numerous magazines and
anthologies in Canada, and abroad. In 2006,
Stumbling in the Bloom won the Governor
General's award for poetry. He has also won the
Gillian Lowndes Award, the Canada Poetry prize, and
awards from The League of Canadian Poets, the BC
Federation of Writers and the BC Arts Council. His
previous books, The Hour's Acropolis and
Water Stair, were short listed for The
Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize. Water Stair
was also short listed for the Governor
General’s Award. John Pass lives near Sakinaw
Lake on B.C.'s Sunshine Coast with his wife, writer
Theresa Kishkan.
