John Gould is the author of two books of very short stories, Kilter: 55 Fictions, which was a finalist for the 2003 Giller Prize, a Globe and Mail Best Book and won the Mary Scorer award for the best book from a Manitoba publisher, and The Kingdom of Heaven: 88 Palm-of-the-Hand Stories. His fiction has appeared in literary periodicals across the country; he has helped adapt three of his pieces for short films. He has coordinated programs for the BC Festival of the Arts and the Victoria School of Writing, teaches writing at the University of Victoria, and serves on the editorial board of the Malahat Review.
