Heighton's works of poetry and fiction have been translated into nine languages and have garnered nominations for the Governor General’s Award, the Trillium Award, a Pushcart Prize, the Journey Prize, and Britain’s W.H. Smith Award. Published in the United States and soon to appear in Britain, Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands, Afterlands became a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice.
